Depending on the municipality, this checkup may be conducted at a health center or a designated medical institution. You will receive health checkup forms and questionnaires addressed to your child at home. Be sure to attend within the specified timeframe.
In Japan, health checkups are legally required. If you miss the checkup, a staff member from the health center will contact you.
If you undergo a health check-up at a medical institution other than the designated one, the cost will be at your own expense. Additionally, please have the doctor record the results of the check-up in the Maternal and Child Health Handbook or on the questionnaire and present the results to the Health Center.
The checkup monitors your child’s growth and development. If any issues are identified, further testing may be recommended at a medical institution, or the health center may conduct follow-up observations.
Future Checkups:
6- to 7-Month Checkup
9- to 10-Month Checkup
18-Month Checkup
3-Year-Old Checkup
Ensure your child attends all scheduled checkups.
